All about my Skunk
Mostly black and
white
Solitary they are
both asleep
And awake into the
night
Of the family
Mephitidae
Eleven species are known
today
Virtually no
predators in all of the land
For few would dare
cross his anal scent gland
Often, when
threatened
They hiss, stomp and
wield there weapon
Rarely do they resort
though
In expending their
musk most foul
Intimidation tactics
work just fine
Except for on the
great horned owl
For he is more
fearsome than a raised tail
And, as a bird, knows
not smell.
